La Grande Roule

This is the ferris wheel on Place Bellecour in Lyon's city centre. It is only there for about a month during winter, but it should stay longer as the views you get from riding it are spectacular. It is especially beautiful during the annual 'Fête des lumières' (Festival of Light) which takes place in Lyon on December 8th, an enchanting night where one of the traditions is that everybody lines their window ledges with candles.
