Rooftops
This is a view of the rooftops in Vieux Lyon (Old Lyon). It is probably my favourite area of the city. It is full of winding cobbled streets, beautiful churches, wonderful restaurants and bars, and some great shops. Apparently, it used to be the roughest area of the city until the Mayor (in the late 80s) cleaned it up and got rid of the lingering crime element that plagued the district. It worked a treat because it is now one of the main tourist attractions of the city.

What a view! I love the almost haphazard arrangement of the buildings and the different elevations. It is so much more intersting than modern day city scapes where everything is straight and measured. Great shot!

thanx to ur visit to my blog. sorry for being late to reply. i have a hope to travel lyon. it's nice picture. you posted about east asian table manners. actually there's one thing wrong in the picture. she shouldn't put her elbows on the table (but it's ok in India). but i guess there's only you present. that's why she didn't care about. in korea, you shouldn't carry your dishes.

greetings ... a shot i always like .. & interesting to compare the rooftops in Lyon, to the rooftops in St Ives!
one thing i notice in your one, are the chimneys - they all protrude quite high!
looks like a nice place to visit (think i went as a kind, but i can't remember!)

ok, so the chimneys in my pic are also high! .. but they are more camoflagued so i didn't notice til i went back after writing that bit above!!
