Top Gear
This was my first attempt at a panning shot. I took it using the Kodak DX6490 about a year and a half ago. By no means is it perfect, but I was so pleased with it the day I took it that I have decided to post it anyway!!I also just found out how to create links to my favourite posts. This probably won't be one of them, but if you get a chance, have a look at a couple. Some of them were posted right at the beginning when there was nobody visiting my blog!!

Great job on this photo. I've tried this sort of thing a few times, but I've never been happy with the result. I love this effect. I'll keep trying.

Hi Dustin, very nice. Yes this is a technique i use quite a lot, and now with the digital age it has become much easier :) With time you get the hang of it, and depending on the direction of the subject with reference to yourself you can quite quite good at estimating the exposure. Try it also at night and use a fill-in flash at the end of the exposure (2nd curtain) or at the beginnning :) This too gives a nice effect.
Best wishes from Switzerland
Neil
